RALEIGH, North Carolina – Livingstone's offense came alive with points and yards galore.
The final result was a lopsided 31-7 victory over Saint Augustine's University that included Drew Powell's three touchdown passes and a 54 yard field goal by Leonardo Manzo.
But there wasn't a whole lot of celebrating considering they still had sloppy moments and much tougher games coming up. The Blue Bears scored 16 points in the second half Saturday en route to an easy win against St. Aug's.
Powell, who came into the day leading the team this season, completed 15 of 20 throws for 192 yards. Jalen Hendricks caught nine passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns, including a 49 yard strike from Powell.
The Blue Bears (2-2) finished with 358 yards of total offense. Jarius Richardson ran for a team-high 99 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown.
Saint Augustine's (0-6) couldn't convert a few good opportunities late in the second half. In the last three game SAU only score one touchdown in each game.
But there were also some bad moments. The Blue Bears quickly drove down the field on their first possession, but bogged down on third and two at the 19 and settled for a field goal.
The mistakes didn't matter on Saturday because the gulf in talent was so wide. But Livingstone will need a cleaner performance next weekend when it goes on the road to Southern Division foe Shaw University.
