UAPB Lions aim to turn season around against ASU Hornets
GAME TIME: 7:30 PM, THURSDAY - TV: ESPNU
PINE BLUFF, Arkansas -- Arkansas-Pine Bluff coach Monte Coleman said his team doesn’t dwell on any loss and immediately looks forward to focus on the ensuing game.
That might have been a little more difficult in the aftermath of the Golden Lions’ most recent defeat — a 61-14 loss to Alcorn State. Not only was the margin and manner of the loss quite different than the ones that came before it, but also the team had a whole 12 days in between the blowout in Little Rock and Thursday’s game against Alabama State (2-4, 2-3 SWAC).
While the layoff, Coleman says, wasn’t spent sulking or stewing, the Lions enter the matchup, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Golden Lion Stadium and airs on ESPNU, without massive changes.
“We changed up a few things on offense,” Coleman said on Tuesday. “We changed up some things and added some things on defense. All in preparation for this upcoming game against Alabama State.
“It’s a very important game for us. It’s a nationally televised game for us. … So we’re excited about this football game. We’re excited about the remainder of the season.”
